A tourist`s wish list will be long and varied in Singapore. There are sophisticated and well-priced shopping opportunities; cultural visits to Sri Mariamman Temple and Sultan Mosque (Masjid Sultan); nature trips to the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, Jurong Bird Park, Zoological Gardens; and for relaxation in sumptuous surroundings the world famous Raffles Hotel is a perfect retreat. The Orchard Road district is considered by most to be the centre of tourism. The Singapore media claims that the country belongs in the top five countries of the world for its nightlife, fine dining and shopping experiences. In addition the Singapore Tourism Board boasts a variety of all-year round events for tourists such as the Chingay Parade, the Singapore Arts Festival and the Singapore Garden Festival.

Hantu Island (or Pulau Hantu, as it is known locally) is located in Singapore waters, just a short boat ride off the southwest coast of Singapore. The best time to dive is from December to February, where the critters show themselves. Expect seahorses, nudibranchs of all colors and a load of other species where one could only catch a glimpse of them in Singapore's waters.
